Best’s Bin no. 0 has always been produced from our oldest vines, with fruit selected from the lower-yielding blocks of the historic Concongella Vineyard at Great Western. This vineyard is home to 19th- and 20th-century Shiraz plantings, which result in intensely flavoured fruit. We hand select, sort and ferment the fruit in small batches followed by intense barrel selection, in which the fruit transforms into superbly flavoured wine.
Bin 0 is made to be an age worthy style and has been the undisputed icon of Great Western shiraz for many decades. It is internationally acclaimed as one of Australia’s great Shiraz wines.
“Deep red/purple colour. The bouquet is savoury and dried-spicy, dried-herbal, with star anise and mixed spice overtones. Very complex indeed. The wine is concentrated and powerful, with tremendously detailed flavour including lots of spice and a hint of pepper. A thoroughly majestic wine of boundless complexity and persistence, all hung on an impressively authoritative structure.” – 97 Points & 5 Stars Huon Hooke
