Fraser Gallop Estate is set upon a marvelous location in Wilyabrup, within the Margaret River region. All the vines on the estate are dry-grown (unirrigated), cane pruned and the fruit is all hand picked. With meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard, it allows the winemaking team to craft wines that are truly expressive of their site and terroir.
“The last couple of releases have been on the leaner side; this release adds some weight. It’s an excellent move. It tastes of grapefruit, juicy pear and steel, both rich and seductive at once, before cedar wood and smoked spice notes lend a hand through the back half. It finishes with a cleansing rinse of acidity, but at no point is flavour left behind. This feels ripe and juicy throughout. This is a beautiful example of the chardonnay grape.” – 94 Points Campbell Mattinson
“I’ve tasted this wine three times (twice blind) over the last couple of months and each time I’ve really loved its distinctive personality. It’s in the lighter, nervier, more elegant Margaret River spectrum, offering vivid citrusy flavours, wild botanical perfume and a touch of tangy grip on the finish. It’s super-complex and delicious, and would have to be one of the best-value Margaret River chardonnays on the market” – Max Allen
