“Magnificent.” – 96+ Points Gary Walsh
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this wine are from a single vineyard grown in the Wilyabrup sub region of Margaret River . Sourced from the 26 year old dry grown Batley vineyard, the fruit contributes to producing wines of structure, intensity and classical Cabernet Sauvignon fruit characters .
“If you enjoy plenty of delicious inky and minerally tannin, and firmly structured Cabernet, then walk this way. Black fruit, baking spices and biscuits, cocoa, rubbed fresh mint, bay leaf and lavender perfume. Full bodied, dense and packed, cool fresh acidity weaving through black fruit and tobacco, magnificent sweep of gravelly tannin, and a soaring finish of impeccable length and precision. Yes, there’s some very fine tailoring here, but also a controlled aggression, that makes it so charismatic. Magnificent.” – 96+ Points Gary Walsh
“Recognises Margaret River’s founding father Dr John Gladstones. It thrives in its moderate alcohol, which in turn serves to emphasise the cassis/blackcurrant and black olive fruit; the tannins, too, are precisely weighted. However, the new French oak, while correct for the medium and long term, still needs time to fully integrate.” – 96 Points James Halliday
