Established in 1985 McLeish Estate has produced many Gold & Trophy Award winning wines, asserting themselves as one of the Hunter Valley’s most awarded Boutique Wineries. Grassy, green tinged when young, but with ageing a rich golden tint. Harmonious citrus characters initially, but with ageing will develop intense toast and honey flavours. The fruit/acid balance ensures a long length to distinct elegant finish, combined with a lively lingering generous palate.
“Bright quartz-green; the bouquet has a touch of complexity, its source not obvious; the palate has superb intensity and length, the flavours moving beyond lemon into lime and a touch of grapefruit; the steel core of acidity is there to guide the wine into an indefinite future.” – 96 Points James Halliday
“Unusually perfumed – a bit grannies’ handbag – then the usual lime and lemon plus a touch of hay. Big burst of flavour, very clear and firm acidity, goes thorough the mouth like a train. Some clove and toast flavours on exit show some bottle age development and complexity, but very much a wine near the start of its life. Excellent.” – 94 Points Gary Walsh
“A delicate pure semillon with enticing lemon blossom fragrance, fresh lemon juice and lemon grass in the wake of subtle toasty development. Its magnificent now with some years of life before it yet” – 95 Points Tyson Stelzer
