94 Points & Top 100 Wine of 2017 James Halliday
Mike Press Wines, located in the internationally acclaimed wine region of Adelaide Hills in South Australia, sets the benchmark for quality wine at an outstanding price.
Mike is hands on in all aspects of Mike Press Wines from working in the vineyard, through to making the wine, and getting it ready for the market.
This is the third vintage of Mike’s new Pinot Noir using grapes grown from the 777 clone. The bunches are thinned three times during the growing season to maximise intensity of fruit flavour. The wine is matured in French oak and receives minimal filtration.
“The grapes were thinned three times, a very expensive process for an $18 pinot noir, but was repaid by the sheer power and depth of this savoury, complex wine. Spices, plum and dark cherry fruit point to a prosperous future, but at this price you can afford to cellar some, drink some.” – 94 Points & Top 100 Wine of 2017 James Halliday
