The winery and vineyards are set amongst the rolling hills in the Polish Hill River region of the beautiful and historic Clare Valley.
Pristine aromas of lime, lemon and grapefruit dominate initially, with some gentle floral notes kicking in behind these. Maybe just a suggestion of wet slate/stones too. Very typical and very attractive. On the Palate fresh, crisp and dry as it always is upon release. The palate is chockful of the citrus characters aforementioned, well balanced by the zingy acid that provides much of the drive to the finish. Finishes clean and dry with just a hint of textural grip.
“As is the usual style, there’s a kiss of softness and perfume above juicy lemon/lime flavour, cool crunchy acidity, along with a subtle sweet silkiness, then the twist of lime and waft of bathtime fragrance on a minerally and gently chalky finish of good length. It’s good. It will improve with a little more time in bottle too. Grouse.” – 93+ Points Gary Walsh
