99 Points & Special Value Wine James Halliday

Schild Estate Wines are created with an authenticity and passion that comes from generations of a family who have made their home in the Southern Barossa.

This irreplaceable vineyard was planted in 1847 by Willam and John Jacob, just eleven years after the foundation of South Australia putting them amongst the oldest in the world. Situated between Jacob’s Creek and the North Para River the vineyard gets its name from the Indigenous word ‘Moorooroo’ meaning ‘meeting of two waters’

“Four rows of vines planted by the Jacob brothers in 1847, and saved from destruction by Ed Schild in 1984. Hand-picked, bunch-sorted, berry-sorted by table post destemmer, open-fermented, 5-8 days cold soak, 7-14-day ferment, matured for 18-24 months in 90% French/10% American oak (30% new). A great wine, the oak handling exemplary, keeping the cornucopia of purple and black fruits foremost. The mouthfeel is supple, the alcohol also exemplary.” – 99 Points & Special Value Wine James Halliday
