‘Very good wine.’ – 95 Points Huon Hooke
In the Rhone valley’s northerly appellation of Condrieu and Cote Rotie, Viognier is the dominant white grape variety. Creating premium wines, rich in character. Marsanne and Roussanne both hail from the village of Hermitage and are used in the regions great whites. When carefully blended together the resultant wine can be beautiful, balanced, textural and elegant.
“Ripper wine this. Smells like quince and lemon butter with some ginger spice thrown in. Light golden colour suggests richness, and it’s there – curvy edges but mouthwatering acidity underlying. Refreshing finish but layers of fruit, nougat and spice found throughout the palate. I imagine this with cold cuts or a terrine and how well it would go. Mouth-filling, delicious, interesting wine.” – 92 Points Mike Bennie
